Three Popular Detoxification Systems - Do They Really Work Or Just Makes Things Worse?

All of them can be seen on TV shows and online. They get advertised and hyped-up a lot. They say that they are the hottest and best detox product in the market today, but do they really work? Check out this article and learn more about these detox systems before you consider engaging in them.

Let’s tackle about your feet first. Yes, your feet. A lot of individuals getting into whole body detoxification consider undergoing a foot bath detox. This is different from the plastic foot bath massage device that you got last holiday and didn’t even bother to use. A foot bath detox employs a metal container which gives the water an electric charge. The charge is harmless and can’t be felt, but toxins in your body get attracted to this charge and get flushed out through the pores of your feet. A lot of people believe in the power of this detox method. But as with any body detoxification program, everything would just be put to waste if you will be getting them back inside your system. And true indeed, removing toxins from the many pores you have in your feet is really good but your detox program becomes futile if you’re just getting them back in.

What about the ever so popular fruit juice diet program? Its like getting to a fasting diet, the difference being the nutrients from the juice gets into your system. And this one is not a bad idea for a cleansing diet too. The only problem is that most people give up on it after a few weeks, or just days. If this is everything your detoxification program is doing, then you are depriving your body of the other significant vitamins and minerals it needs in order to function properly. Getting into this diet method for more than a few days can have drastic effects on your health in general, and this is not what you want out of any detoxification program right?

And since we mentioned fasting, why don’t we take a look at purging too? It is a method which involves beefing-up your fiber intake, using laxatives or any other supplements which help you eliminate solid toxins through the other end of your body. This is one detoxification method I wouldn’t want to advise to anyone. Why not? Well yes, regular bowel movement are important, but undergoing this kind of habit increases your risk for bulimia and doing more harm than good for your colon. As you can see, purging really doesn’t do much. When you get into purging, not only are you eliminating harmful toxins, but also the good stuff that you are supposed to retain inside your body, which will make you feel sick and weak. Although most detox programs indicate mild side effects like these, don’t think that purging will help you attain your detoxification goals. Colon cleansing must be done slowly and gently. Since there is a good history from which the toxins in your colon came from, you will find out how much there is to clean up.

So having reviewed three of the most well-known detoxification systems out there, I think it’s good if we ask ourselves if they really are of any good. It is important that we get into some research before undergoing any kind of detoxification program to find out if this can be good for you or not. It’s just not worth risking your body and health by getting into something that may prove to be more harmful than beneficial. Your aim with detoxification is to get your system clean, not to damage it even more.

Each of these means are equally viable. But among these, a fully-automated revenue-generating website is the only one that can be achieved without investing any money.

To invest in stocks, you obviously must risk some money in spears to make money.

To invest in real estate, you, your finance partner, or your lending institution must risk some money in order to make money.

You have passive wealth!

Unclaimed Money

Throughout the United States, people are discovering lost stashes of money they didn’t know existed.

No, it’s not from cleaning out their bio or up-ending their mattresses. It’s actually from the government- money in the form of unclaimed money and property. And there are billions of dollars of it is still to be returned. The latest estimates have been $40 Billion dollars nationwide.

For years, talkshows have featured episodes entirely on unclaimed money. NBC’s Katie Couric recently reported in the Today Show, there were billions of dollars in lost assets with the US government including $62 million in uncashed refund checks held by the IRS. Oprah Winfrey was even able to reunite some members of her studio audience with thousands of dollars of unclaimed money after doing an on-the-spot search. Oprah noted 7 out of 10 Americans may be due a claim.

How does this happen? This question appears to be the most common question and the biggest reason many Americans remain skeptical and never search.

When people move or get a new job, get married or pass-away, they tend to lose track of financial assets like bank accounts, tax returns, checks, stocks, bonds, etc. These assets are turned over to the state as required by escheat rules which state jolie photo (according to Wikipedia) “when an entity (such as a bank) holds money or property (such as an account in that bank) and the property goes unclaimed. In many jurisdictions, if the owner cannot be located, such property can be escheated to the government.” The period that banks and businesses can hold-on to these assets before turning them over is called the ‘dormancy period’ (the average is 3-5 years) and it varies from state to state. These lost assets go into each state’s unclaimed property fund where they stay until their rightful owners show-up. There is generally no time limit (Idaho is an exception with 10 years) as to how long these assets are claimed- as long as the identity of the claimant and the validity of the claim is established.

In an effort to locate rightful owners of money owed, the Unclaimed Property Division in the states’ Treasury Departments have outreach programs, but only a small fraction of unclaimed money they are suppose to return is successfully reunited with its rightful owners. This is due to a lack of manpower and no centralized government unclaimed property database.

State Treasurers urge all residents to check if their names are on the list of unclaimed property owners. These are published annually in government websites, newspapers and public places like state fairs. Most are surprised at the names which turn-up on the unclaimed lists. Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Demi Moore, even New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg were on lists of people who were owed unclaimed property or money. And to think these people aren’t even difficult to locate.

With millions added every year to the unclaimed money fund, American citizens are encouraged to conduct an unclaimed property search in every state they have ever lived or worked.

The process of searching for unclaimed property and unclaimed money databases can be as simple as entering one’s name in a search box. If the results show that you are on the list, an on-line claim form is jolie photo available online to verify you are indeed the rightful owner.

WARNING: Many unclaimed money sites angelina photo you with supposed “free” searches, and if a match is made will request payment to access the database. Considering you need to search at least once per year, this method could get costly. Unclaimed money expert Russ Johnson, of UnclaimedMoney.net does not charge on a per search basis and offers lifetime access. Russ says “say goodbye to those blood sucking unclaimed money websites! Utilize lifetime access sites and never pay for access again. Most of these databases are misleading, outdated and almost always containing only a small fraction of actual claims.

Unclaimed money and property expert Russ Johnson has been assisting Americans in finding their unclaimed money online since 1997. His sites are http://www.unclaimedmoney.net and http://www.unclaimedfunds.net which are updated regularly and are guaranteed official searches.

The Little Foxes at the Shaw Festival (A Review)

What a difference a director seems to make! At the Shaw Festival (Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario), the cast of The Little Foxes is practically the same as the cast of Getting Married (six actors have significant roles in both plays). In the Shaw comedy, everything comes off like clockwork, and the fun never stops. But the Lillian Hellman drama leaves you waiting for a climax that never really comes.

I have already complained at length about the ferocious Stalinist ideology of The Little Foxes in one post; in another I have griped about the holes in Hellman’s plot. Despite these objections, the play is a near-masterpiece. Hellman’s characters are frighteningly real, every word in the script tells, and the story builds to what ought to be a shocking denoument.

But not quite, in this production. For the first half of the play (by far the best half in this production) the great questions are whether Horace Gibbens is really going to come home to the nest of snakes that is the Hubbard family (his wife Regina and her brothers Ben and Oscar), along with whether he will go along with the scheme of the siblings that he join them in investing $75,000 each into a new cotton mill business. When Horace finally does come home, physically disabled but clear-seeing and determined to do right, the lines are drawn, and everyone in the theater braces for heavy weather.

But just when you expect to be squirming in your seats and wiping your perspiring palms on your pants, this production lets you down. Laurie Paton, who is Regina, is a fine actress, but here she neither looks or acts like the Jezebel she is supposed to be playing. Nor does David Jansen, as the likeable and sympathetic Horace, project the steely resolve needed for him to win the war of wills with his wife. Between these two the sparks do not fly, and in their scenes together the tension does not build.

And so, at the play’s climax, we are not nearly as afraid for Horace, or for his and Regina’s uncorrupted daughter Alexandra (Krista Colosimo), or for any of the other characters, as the playwright wanted us to be. Nor, in this highly political play, are we afraid for America, as Lillian Hellman wanted us most of all to be. As for Alexandra, who represents Hellman’s hope for revolution and a more just America, Ms. Colosimo is made to deliver Hellman’s shrill, socialist soapbox lines at the end of the play all at the same high pitch.

I cannot see Peter Krantz, a Shaw Festival regular who plays Oscar Hubbard in the The Little Foxes, on the stages of the Shaw Festival without a return of the visceral feelings that he aroused in those that saw him as the predatory pervert in the Shaw Festival’s production of The Coronation Voyage several years ago. My reaction is quite unfair to Mr. Krantz, and after seeing him in Getting Married as Boxer, who is a sympathetic comic character, I thought I might have shaken this unfortunate association. But his character in The Little Foxes is every bit as repulsive as his character in The Coronation Voyage, and as Oscar Hubbard he quite undid the salutory effect of his portrayal of Boxer.

The veteran Shaw actress Sharry Flett is simply wonderful in The Little Foxes as the gentle, abused, alcoholic, but still hopeful Birdie Hubbard (Oscar’s wife), and the scenes in which she is disrespected or worse are exquisitely rendered. The Shaw’s production is worth seeing for her performance alone. Also highly satisfactory is Lisa Codrington in the meaningful and thematically important role of Addie.

10 Killer Tips to Get Free PR

After 20 years in the PR business, I can tell you that getting publicity is an art, but you, as the entrepreneur, have a HUGE advantage because the press loves to hear about new things directly from the horse’s mouth. You, as the entrepreneur, are a “direct source” and considered a killer scoop for a journalist. Direct calls from inventors make journalists feel like they’re getting the straight dope without a publicist’s spin and they absolutely love it.

This creates an automatic trust and credibility that only you can provide. So go for it with gusto! Don’t be shy; turn on your passion. If a journalist blows you off, turn on your humbleness by telling them, “hey I’m new at this, would you mind helping me out?” Ask for their advice on which of their colleagues might like the story you are pitching. I find that showing true human foible and practicing humbleness really works wonders and brings down walls of defensiveness — even with the snarkiest of journalists. Here are my top 10 tips for getting the press to sit up and take notice and actually get them to report:

1. Identify holidays, seasons and special months that correlate to your product and pitch the press during that time. For example, if you are a chocolate company, call the press with a February Valentines Day story. If you are a bra company, call during October Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

2. Extract the aspect of your product that makes it totally different from the competition and focus on that only when you talk to the press. Note: Price, service and speed do not count. For example, for two former Seagram’s executives, we focused on Redcliff liqueur as the “first American liqueur” because it used a cola taste. Cola is a flavor uniquely American and born of Coca Cola fame.

3. Look through a magazine and notice all the different sections that might include your product. Come up with a sentence pitch about your product for each section, then call the editor with your customized pitches. There may be up to three places your product may fit in one magazine. For example, there are “new product” sections near the front of the magazine, “feature” stories in the middle, and sometimes “back of the book” profiles on personalities and CEO’s.

4. Tie your product launch to a nonprofit. The press are more apt to report about a commercial product if part of the proceeds benefit a charity. Find an organization that matches the purpose of your product. For example, Wine & Spirits magazine works with water conservation organizations because the publisher believes that water bottles litter the environment. They even created a slogan around it: “Drink Wine. Save Water.”

5. Develop a one sentence “elevator speech” that pithily describes your product, and let it be the first thing out of your mouth when you pitch the press or are selling someone on your product. Tokyo Coca Cola’s Green Tea Terrace made green tea lattes and cappuccinos. When we called the press about them, we started with “The ‘Starbucks of Green Tea’ is opening stores throughout the U.S.” Making the comparison to Starbucks describes what the company does, and the phrase provides a vivid Polaroid picture image in the mind. Developing words into images is a killer secret that wins the hearts of journalists and tells the story of your product in one simple sentence.

6. Do your research before you call a journalist. Journalist’s #1 pet peeve about phone calls are from people who “don’t know what they write about.” They abhor unspecific pitches and do not have the time to brainstorm with you about how your story will work for their publication. Before you pick up the phone, Google a writer to see what kinds of things they like to write about and note the tone of their writing. Customize your pitch to fit exactly into their style.

7. Consider who the reader/listener/viewer of a media outlet is before you call them. Pitch the story about your product in a way that would interest that particular reader/listen/viewer. For example, The View’s Elisabeth Hasselbeck has talked on air about her allergy to gluten and frustration in finding foods that will nourish her without an allergic reaction. Her viewers are women who are concerned about their health and the rate of gluten intolerance is rising at an alarming rate. Hasselbeck’s viewers want to know about solutions for their Celiac disease and she happens to be a personal advocate. These were very important to thinkproducts, so their CEO contacted Hasselbeck to become a “celebrity spokesperson” for their gluten free products.

8. Make 1000% sure you have the right phone number for a journalist you are calling. Be like a detective to find the exact right phone number. Leaving voicemails for the wrong person is a disappointing waste of time. Make the receptionist your friend. Use Hoovers.com and Linkedin.com to find phone numbers. You can subscribe to Bacons’ Media Directory (www.baconsmediasource.com) to get detailed lists of the entire staff of any magazine, newspaper, online or broadcast outlet.

9. When you do reach a journalist, qualify they are the right contact by saying “are you the person who reports about food? Beauty? Business?” After they answer, follow with your pitch by saying “great, because I have a food product that is filled with pure functional food and prevents cancer. Does that interest you to report?”

10. Call journalists when they are most likely to answer the phone. Morning radio shows start work at 4 am. and are gone by 11 a.m. Daily newspapers are rushing to get their stories done at the end of the day, so avoid afternoons and call them first thing in the morning at 8 a.m. Magazine reporters work on “long leads” that are 2-8 months ahead of time, so tag your story to coincide with the issue they are most likely working on now. For example in April, Body + Soul magazine is working on their October issue.

11. Bonus! Never, ever, ever hang up without asking a journalist for a referral. If the journalist you reached isn’t interested in your story, politely ask if there is someone else they think should hear and maybe report about it.

A natural born publicist and passionate writer, Alyson Dutch is a consumer product/services specialist who has launched cookies for Mrs. Fields, green tea cappuccinos for Tokyo Coca Cola’s Green Tea Terrace and the first sparkling wine geared for GenXer’s, Cuvee M. She’s created positioning platforms for personalities such as “luxury lifestyle designer,” Colin Cowie to launch his books, TV shows and tabletop products. Her “celebrity bra designer” campaign for actress Amanda Kennedy helped to grow her Sassybax concept into a $5 million a year bra company. Before Crest’s BrushUps hit shelves, Dutch launched the first “fingertip toothbrush” for Dental Dots with an award-winning “give bad breath the finger” campaign.

Dutch’s product prowess comes from a background in the entertainment industry where she looked at clients like The Beach Boys, The Lion King theatrical productions and the Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA Pageants as products. She leveraged the music industry’s activist anthem of ‘I Ain’t Gonna Play Sun City” into CNN, Rolling Stone and Vogue reporting how the fall of apartheid in Sun City, South Africa changed the perception of the destination for Americans. Dutch booked celebrities for the first online celebrity chat rooms for America Online and Oldsmobile in the early 1990’s as a way to indoctrinate online membership. Always fascinated by how she can bring entrepreneurial products to the mainstream, she established Brown + Dutch Public Relations in 1996 and in 2007 finally downloaded her decades of knowledge into a book titled the “PR Handbook for Entrepreneurs.”

Books That Remain in Our Hearts and Our Minds

Looking back at the books you read as a child, there are probably always a few that stood out among the rest. Names like The Wizard of Oz and Alice and Wonderland are just a few of the books that have stood the test of time. Without these amazing works of literature, we would have been unable to leave our world behind and explore the fantasy worlds that allowed us to delve deep into our imagination.

Alice In Wonderland
Written by Lewis Carroll, one of the books that immediately comes to mind as an outstanding children’s book is of course Alice in Wonderland. About a seven year old named Alice, this book took us to places that we never anticipated. When she fell asleep and plunged down that rabbit hole, we could never have expected the adventures she would face with Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, and the King and Queen of Hearts.

This book was originally published on July 4, 1865. The story was told by a Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson and Reverend Robinson Duckworth. During a time when both reverends rowed up the River Thames with three little girls. As they journeyed up the river, the reverend shared a story about a girl name Alice who is very bored and goes on an adventure. The young girls asked Reverend Dodgson to write the story down. The young girls who first heard this story were age, 13, 10, and 8.The 10 year old’s name was Alice Liddell. Reverend Dodgson gave his first manuscript of Alice’s Adventures Under Ground to her somtime around November 26, 1864. It was speculated from Dodgson’s diaries that he actually gave the first manuscript to another friend prior to giving one to Alice Liddle. The friend George MacDonald loved it and adviced Dodgson to submit it for publication.

The Wizard Of Oz
Another famous children’s book that still today lives on in history is The Wizard of Oz. Still being shown as a movie, there is just nothing like the original book to instill fun, enjoyment, excitement, and even fear in the hearts of little children. L. Frank Baum was the real man behind the curtain, and through his words, we learned of the trials and tribulations of a girl named Dorothy. Although in the book the Munchkins, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion were real and not brought about from a tornado, this book allowed us to feel as if these characters were our friends.

This book was orginally published by George Hill company in Chicago in 1900. The orginal name of the book was The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz. The actual first edition was published in 1901.

The first film of the Wizard Of Oz was in 1908 as a silent film with actress Mildred harris. The most recognized successful film came in 1939 called The Wizard Of Oz where Judy Garland played Dorothy. There were other versions of the film made prior to 1939 as well. One in which Baum produced was called His majesty, The Scarecrow Of Oz in 1914.

Charlotte’s Web
A story about animals that talk and a girl who loves them as if they were family, Charlotte’s Web was a children’s book that especially stays in the hearts of little girls around the world. With a sophisticated vocabulary, Charlotte the spider feels she must save the life of Wilbur the pig in an unusual way. Although they have a love hate relationship in the beginning, Charlotte, as told by writer E.B. White, worked day and night to write messages in her web in order to save Wilbur from slaughter.

First publication of this book was in 1952. The author also wrote the book Stuart Little. The book begins with the story of a litter of pigs with one being a runt that was to be killed. The 8 year old daughter Fern of the farmer John Arable begs to not kill the runt. The runt ends up being given to Fern as a pet and so the story begins.

Little Women
Burned into the mind of young women everywhere was the story of Little Women written by Louisa May Alcott. Based on the life of Ms. Alcott this 19th century family portrayed the best and the worst about growing up in New England during the Civil War. With the beauty of Meg, the talents of Jo, the weakness of Beth, and the spoiled nature of Amy, it is hard not to fall in love with these four women through the dreams, courtships, and growing up.

The Little Women novel was first published in 1868. The book was based on the author’s own personal live experiences as a child living in Boston and Concord Massachusetts with her three sisters.

Old Yeller
Finally you have a book that still touches the hearts of many children who read it. Old Yeller, written by Fred Gipson was as much about the Texas Frontier, as it was about the ugly stray dog that kept Travis safe and protected on his ranch. Full of laughter, tears, and heartbreak, this book will always be remembered fondly by any child who reads it.

This book was first published in 1956. The film Old Yeller was made in 1957. The actual title of this book was named after a fictional Mountain Cur dog. The dog in this story is the main character in the book. The actors included in the first film were Dorothy McGuire and Tommy Kirk.

Wearing Of The Green - An Expression Of The Heart

As February winters come to a close, we wave goodbye to days of pink hearts and roses and say hello to green sprouts of Spring. Interesting that both Valentine’s and St. Patrick’s Day both carry an air of blossoming new hope and renewal of joyful splendor, where matters of the heart and life are concerned. Also notable are the colors associated with each, pink and green, both coincidentally representative of the energy of the Heart Chakra. So is green, just the new pink of Spring?

With the approaching “March” on life, we discover flowering blooms abound, precious first breaths and steps from our dear animal friends, and the onset of springtime cleaning of both our inner and outer closets, as we all take stock of what to let go of, and the new we would like to usher in. For many, that new involves change and the desire to let our dreams flourish and our hearts fill with hope. Optimism and abundance are irresistibly bountiful; helping us forget any lingering, dismal feelings. We find ourselves singing a new tune, as the melodies of birds and the phosphorescence of vibrant butterfly swarms enrapture our hearts.

But what do we know of this “green little gig” that envelopes our souls with such needed freshness? A little “Luck of the Irish” might just take us farther than we are aware, so let’s explore. Here is what one Historian, Jason Spence, has to say:

“St. Patrick is the origin of the ‘Luck of the Irish.’ He was a kidnapped Brit who was enslaved and found God on the hills herding sheep as a slave. He escaped. Became a Bishop and returned to bring the faith to the Pagan Irish who believed in the Druids. He received inspiration from God to use the three leaf clover called a shamrock, to explain the Trinity to his flocks who were the descendants of the Celts and Viking invaders. They believed in the ancient Druid’s religion of magic and many gods of nature. That there occurs four leaf clovers was explained that they were the result of God’s melting the Druid beliefs with the Trinity of the Christian beliefs. Irish soldiers conscripted into the British army began wearing the shamrock on their uniforms to bring them “magic” and avoid being killed in battle. Because they were blessed and used by St. Patrick, they believed they were on God’s side and protected by God. This is known as “Wearing of the Green.”

Green, yes green. A color that represents many things to many people–a melting pot of symbolism. The word green is closely related to the Old English verb growan, meaning “to grow.” And isn’t that what Spring is all about? Everything blooming, growing…a never-ending, cyclical process. Growth is our natural state and anything less than this, simply is “unnatural.” Speaking of which, the most common association for green seems to be found in its ties to nature, naturally. Culturally, green has much broader and sometimes contradictory meanings, ranging from it symbolizing hope and growth, to death, sickness, or even what some might call “evil.” Romans used green holly and evergreen as decorations for their winter solstice celebration, Saturnalia, which evolved into a green celebration called Christmas. It is also the traditional color of Islam and was symbolic of resurrection and immortality in Ancient Egypt, where the god Osiris was also depicted as green-skinned. Irish legend states that green clothes attract faeries and aid crops and the “Wearing of the Green” thus symbolizes the birth of springtime. It is known to signify witchcraft for its association with spirits of early English folklores and literatures that also traditionally use it to symbolize nature and its embodied attributes of life, fertility, and rebirth. In metaphysics, the Seven Rays system of Alice Bailey, which classifies different metaphysical personality types of humans, designates those of the third ray of creative intelligence as being “on the Green Ray,” while psychics who see auras refer to those with a green aura as typically having health/healing related occupations and being nature lovers. To me, green is the earth and it’s gardens and the caring for it. It’s the color that stimulates transformation, harmony, fertility, abundance and prosperity, endurance, stability, and regal presence. It represents safe passage (like the green traffic light), balances emotions, calms, and is also the alchemy of consciousness from one realm to another through the spiraling energies of DNA. The feeling of green is earthy and yet still feels very much like liquid, with a fluidity that is enchanting. Think enchanted forest or Emerald Bay of our very own Lake Tahoe, Nevada. And yet mostly, for me, green denotes love.

It is in the stories of the medieval period and in Hinduism that we come to learn how green is a true expression of the all-encompassing heart. Medieval stories portrayed it as representing love and the base, natural desires of man, while the Hindu’s use it to symbolically represent the fourth or Heart Chakra. You see, not only is pink indicative of love and the heart, but green is also a very powerful color linked with unconditional love. This fourth Chakra lies center of our Chakra energy system and is the most powerful energy, in my opinion, that exists. It acts as a bridge between the upper and lower three Chakras; a bridge between all worlds and illusionary divisions. As our Heart Chakra, green has great healing power and protective qualities. It is the one thing we humans can use powerfully when we learn to naturally access it and stay centered in the presence of it’s energy constantly. The Heart Chakra is an impenetrable force of healing that has no boundaries or limitations. It asks that we see, feel, think, and act on a whole other level that is motivated by nothing more than love. When we come from the purity of our hearts and commit to that compassion and acceptance, it implores us to embrace the essence of our being and know the beauty of all of existence, as an extension of ourselves. The Heart Chakra is the jewel of all Chakras, and it’s green energy is the emerald beauty of all gems.

Coincidentally, this brings us back to where we began. Back to a little “Luck of the Irish” energy. It just so happens that the most prominent Irish ring is the Claddagh ring, which has a history dating back to over 300 years and is one of history’s most meaningful and respected jewels. The features of the Claddagh ring symbolize some of the best virtues of human life. The heart held in the hands show love and the hands represent friendship and togetherness, the crown on the heart symbolizes loyalty–all virtues that have increasingly been forgotten in today’s materialistic world. No wonder many people remain fascinated by this Irish ring. People wish that some things would never change. And even though change is natural and inevitable, the core foundation of love that has transcended time, is one thing it wouldn’t hurt to hold on to, and could only benefit us more as we deepen and broaden through its evolvement. Our values and how we treat and honor ourselves, others, and everything around us are telling of what we see as our creation, in respect. Another description of the ring expresses how the heart represents the hearts of each and every member of mankind, in addition to the element which gives everlasting music to the Gael. (Remember that springtime song of birds and love ringing in our ears). The ring is also based on and directly correlative to the Shamrock, one of the oldest symbols of the Holy Trinity among the Irish. This interpretation describes the crown as a symbol of the Father, the left hand as the Son, and the right hand as the Holy Spirit, all caring for the heart in the center, symbolizing humanity. Throughout each varying symbolism, a single theme shines through, specifically that the ring symbolizes the trinity of “Love, Loyalty, and Friendship” or, in Gaelic, “Grá, Dílseacht agus Cairdeas” (pronounced ‘graw, dealshocked ogis cordiss’).

“The hands are there for friendship,

The heart is there for love.

For loyalty throughout the year,

The crown is raised above.”

Taking all of this into account, it becomes very clear, why we find ourselves immersed in good feelings, as we leap into Spring. With all this energy of beauty, renewal, healing, life, and love, it’s no wonder we don’t opt to wear, live, and breathe green all year round. And yet we can, because although the seasons change, the one thing that remains constant, but ever-growing, is the emanating power of our hearts. I am then reminded of the English folksong, “Greensleeves,” which echoes green as the color of lightness in love and the anonymous Irish street ballad, “The Wearing of the Green,” published by Dion Boucicault, from the Irish Rebellion of 1798, which ends in these words:

“And where, please God, we’ll live and die still wearin’ o’ the green!”

Through that emerald glow of love, we can create and be in that lovely energy any moment of the eternity of our lives. And the more we share our green, we can carpet the earth with velvet lawns of unconditional experience. Wearing love and life on our sleeves for always. Sounds good to me! Let us remember and reflect while we embrace the opportunity to begin anew, by planting tomorrow seeds, in the now of today.

With gratitude, I am journeying to England & Ireland mid-March (synchronously) for work, including research and energy experiencing, to help complete my newest painting of my series, which embodies the sacred energy of the Heart Chakra and the enchanted beauty of the Celtic, Druidic, & Cosmic Ancients.
